Candace Thornton Spann, M. D.,  is a board-certified dermatologist in Las Vegas. As Co-Owner of Couture Dermatology & Plastic Surgery, her mission and promise to her patients is that they have both healthy skin and vibrant, gorgeous results. Dr. Candace Spann specializes, diagnoses and treats conditions of the skin for patients of all ages and skin types. Her areas of expertise include women’s hair loss, the prevention and treatment of various skin cancers, as well as the treatment of numerous skin disorders. She offers both dermatologic surgery for the removal of both cancerous and benign lesions, and is an expert in skin rejuvenation. For patients seeking cosmetic skin treatments, she offers countless nonsurgical treatment options for the signs of aging.

Services and Specialties

Dr. Candace Spann is experienced to treat a variety of dermatological conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, varicose veins, rosacea, moles and many other skin ailments. She works with patients to offer custom treatment plans so that they are able to manage the condition and attain pleasing visible results. In addition to dermatologic skin related conditions, Dr. Spann offers aesthetic skin rejuvenation for patients who desire to look younger and have softer skin. She uses the latest advances in nonsurgical treatments including dermabrasion, chemical peels, BOTOX, injectable fillers and numerous laser technologies for the improvement of a variety of skin irregularities.

Education and Training

Having completed her Bachelor of Science degree in 1995 from UCLA, Dr. Candace  Spann then went on to graduate from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN in 2000. After graduating from medical school, she completed her internship and residency at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City, a Columbia University Hospital Program. After completing residency, she spent two years in private practice in New York City, then two years in Salt Lake City. She has now been in her hometown of Las Vegas since 2009. She and her husband, board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Marvin Spann, opened Couture Dermatology and Plastic Surgery in 2012.

Special Achievements

Dr. Candace Spann is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. She has been recognized numerous times for her dedication to patient care, and has been featured as a Top Dermatologist in Nevada by several organizations, is recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doc, and has received the Highest Patient Satisfaction rating from the Intermountain Medical Group. Lectures and Memberships

Dr. Spann frequently has been invited to lecture at national conferences. She has been an invited faculty member at the Cosmetic Surgery Forum since 2010, and has also been on faculty for Vegas Cosmetic Surgery, the Skin of Color Seminar Series, and at The Aesthetic Show.

Dr. Spann holds faculty appointments at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in the departments of Surgery, Family Medicine, and Pediatrics.

Dr. Candace Spann is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, and a member of the Las Vegas Dermatology Society.

Drs. Marvin and Candace Spann have been married since 1998 and have two children.

"This is my first time making a YELP review. I felt that I must share my wonderful experience with Dr. Marvin Spann.  I am 65 years old and have had over 15 breast surgeries since my first one at age 21.  I have had multiple problems from implant encapsulations, ruptures, and bad doctors leaving my breasts deformed and irregular and non symmetrical.  My left areola was shriveled up and I thought that I had little left to work with. A couple of years ago I decided to have all implants and free floating silicone removed leaving my chest flat and lumpy with deformed looking nipples and areolas. Dr. Spann was recommended to me by a family member and I was reluctant to do anything as I thought that ever looking pretty again was hopeless. I gave Dr. Spann a chance since I thought I had nothing to lose. To my surprise he repaired my areala and made it and my nipples look back to normal and my breast looked greatly improved and with a second fat grafting surgery my breasts now look better than they have ever looked even when I was young. I think that Dr. Marvin Spann is a miracle worker as I did not think it was possible to make my breasts look as good as he did. I am so grateful for Dr. Spann"

"I would recommend Dr. Marvin Spann to, and have to my friends, anyone interested in a breast reduction. He came highly recommended to me (as did others) by a colleague, and I am happy I chose him over the other  recommendations I received. He was professional and knowledgeable. He has a quiet, calm, and super-confident demeanor. He will answer all of your questions. Everyone in the office is helpful and professional. Of course, as with any surgery, I was nervous, but his confidence relaxed me. The other relaxing thing was the jazz music he played in surgery; as a jazz enthusiast, it was great to hear because that’s how I relax at home. He plays great music in the office as well. I am extremely happy with the result of my breast reduction, shoulder pain is gone, and my confidence is high. My scars are minimal. I thought I would have a significant scar from the nipple to under the breast, but I don’t. Six months post surgery, my scars are insignificant and have diminished a lot since the surgery. The healing process is painful but worth it. Follow all doctor orders. In approximately the fourth week, you will start to feel you can do more normal things, but don’t. I tried to go back to work but had to go home. Wait the full six weeks or more. Dr. Spann’s strength is his desire to do a good surgical job for his patients.
